Can you mix mylicon and zantac

I know shes not hungry It may just be her fussy time? I need to read more on that subject. Don't take the Zantac yourself to help baby. Katy is right on the foods. Some reflux is caused due to a dairy intolerance.

Cut it out of your diet for about 2 to 3 weeks and see if it helps. If not, it's not dairy related. My daughter has severe reflux and laryngospasms. We are on Zantac and previcid. We've been on it since 6 weeks old.

She is 9 months now. They grow out of it eventually so I am told. I've had horrible heartburn with all 3 of my pregnancies and all of my babiea were extremely hairy.

Currently I'm taking prevacid in the morning and then zantac 2x a day and still eat the smoothie tums and alka seltzer. My ob said next appt if no better she will prescribe me something. I go back the 26th and am seriously counting down the days so I feel ya. I wake up with it when I haven't ate or drank all night. Good luck. I would not do both at all and 7 weeks old is really to young for meds. It seems like more and mroe dr's are perscribing meds for babies that don't need it.

He might not agree with the formula he is given or is eating to much. The dr never todl you to use cereal did he??? A baby under 9 months digestive tract is not ready for cereals and lots of foods.

It will casue lots of digeestive problems. She is on medication for the reflux, we feed her upright and small portions, burp often. We use Mylicon and Gripe Water. On the days we do not give her baby food, just formula she will sleep through the night and her gas is milder and manageable. Will she grow out of this or does this indicate a more serious problem? Unfortunately, when we tried to wean her off the zantac, she had a major reflux flare-up and it took a week to recover from it.

We had to keep her on both the zantac and prevacid until we were able to get in to see a gastro last week. The gastro has had us nearly double the prevacid, and significantly cut down on the zantac with the intention of weaning her off of it within a few weeks. The much higher prevacid dose seems to be doing the trick. Brock is on Zantac for the reflux. I have no clue if it works or not. He also has cereal in his bottle, and we switched to soy.

He still has super fussy times, even after feeding, diaper, napping I am starting to think baby 1 is my high maintenance baby, so 2 better be easy going! Good luck We also have a blanket under his crib mattress, about a 30 degree angle, for help with the reflux. We have tried since to wean her off the zantac, but if she skips a dose she gets bad, so for now we are doing both prevacid and zantac. The combo seems to be working and I now have my jolly little baby. I know exactly what you mean about wanting your happy baby.

Every now and then she has a setback esp. My little guy is having the same problem. I can't stand to see him in pain. I use Mylicon and it helps a bit. I will look for Colic Calm and see if that helps. I also try bicycling his legs and putting a bit of pressure on his tummy.

Look up infant massage and you could watch videos of it. Do you breastfeed or bottle feed? My little guy is 10 days old and everytime he poops or passes gas he screams then hes fine after i got to his 2 week check up tomorrow so ill def ask but do any of you know what this coukd be??

I was born with acid relfex and I've had it my whole life, the doctor I had when I was a baby overdosed me on zantac which caused me to have pulmonary, lung, and more stomach issues. So I'm wondering could that have long term effects because I'm still dependent on medicine to keep me from being sick and I wanted to know if there is cause for a malpractice suit? We are trying him with all the usual treatments, - gaviscon, omeprozole, zantac , domperidon His stools are totally liquid - understandably, though usually there is some gritty bits in other babies I've looked after.

As far as what to have on hand I always have a thermometer, Mylicon , Infant Tylenol off-brand , Hydrocortisone, Vaseline, Vapor Rub believe me, sooooooo handy to have available when your little one gets the sniffles in the middle of the night.

I really want a Temporal Thermometer but haven't invested in one. We just have the basic digital ones. My son did the same thing and the pediatrician gave me Zantac for him and it was a amazing how it worked I gave it to him before he ate and before bed it worked wonders. We bottle feed and I'm relactating and giving it to her in a bottle. She's on Zantac and it helps way more than the elevated mattress and rice cereal. DD got to where shhe was projectile vomiting after almost every feeding.

Posted 5 years ago. Neonatal consultants do this all the time from what I heard and they deal with alot of reflux more than GPs so dont worry. If your lacteeze milk is a trigger, you'll need to find a suitable alternative. What about Soy milk though there may be concerns about this product which you'll find if you Google it and find the EmpoweredSustenance website or Almond milk? The other part of my message was regarding the taking of nexium and gaviscon, and, as Barretts says, a delay between taking one then the other, though there seem to be instances where they're given together, and of doctors saying they can be, which is confusing for sufferers.

I would aim for the delay Barretts states, though of course your doctor would advise you as well. Enjoy your ride through Burma! Should be wonderful. New discussion Reply. Hello Thi, there seem to be quite a few claims that zantac and gaviscon are safe together, and doctors having prescribed both. Thanks Paul, how about Nexium and gasviscon for I take nexium in the morning before breakfast and Zantac at night.

I am worrying of leng term use of Gasviscon though it says on the label that there is no alluminium but on the net it says contain alluminium. So confuse now. Alluminum can damage kidney. I guess you can take them on the sme day, but not at the same time. Hi Papote, one of the things I read about the same-time matter is below, so maybe it'll be ok. I would be inclined to take the zantac a while before the gaviscon just in case.

Hi, the same thing applies regarding nexium and gaviscon, but if you could give the nexium a headstart, some say an hour or two, before the gaviscon, that could be a surer thing.

Gaviscon does contain aluminium, though only a very small amount will enter the blood stream, and most of that will be passed out with urine. You can read a lot more about it below, if the link will be allowed, which might ease your mind on the matter. Barretts thi
